Department of Aquaculture
The department of Aquaculture is one of the important departments of the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Currently this department is offering eleven (11) courses including 28 credits under the Faculty of Fisheries (FoF). The courses in this department are designed to start with the 1st year 1st semester (101) to the 4th year 2nd semester (402). Besides that, this department also offers MS in Aquaculture in postgraduate study. The aims of the department are to produce the quality fisheries graduate to provide support services to the farmer level and to establish institutional framework for appropriate and effective management of aquaculture practices (traditional and commercial) through academic and research activities.
It’s a great pleasure for me to introduce the department of Aquaculture. Hope you will feel happy to explore our contribution and innovation. I would like to wellcome you all from the core of heart as a departmental head on behalf of teachers and students. In this department students can enroll themselves in M.S. degree. We offer courses also in udergraduate level for the degree of B. Sc. Fisheries(Hons.) from the Faculty of Fisheries.
We believe our support and services will help students to be equiped with knowledge with problem solving capacity in aquaculture sector. Students are cordially invited to our department for both academic and research purposes.

The department conduct it’s research work and practical sessons in five distinct laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries(FoF) related with species identification, nutritional analysis, indoor experimental aquaculture, histopathology, parasitology. diseseases prevalence, isolation and fish feed formulation.
