Fishing and post harvest activities is an important part in Fisheries. As a head of the department, I would like to welcome all enquiries from prospective students with an interest in our activities. Our Department has a distinguished record in both teaching and research. We are proud to be one of the most active research departments in Bangladesh. We are fortunate to have modern facilities and dedicated faculty members, technical and office staff to support our academic programs and research. Here you can enroll yourself in the Master of Science (MS) in Fishing and Post Harvest Technology. We offer MS degree only to the students from Fisheries background.

This department offers nine courses including Fishing Technology, Handling and Preservation of Fish, Marine Food Chemistry, Fisheries Microbiology, Fish Processing, Fishery Products Technology, Quality Control of Fish and Fishery Products, Algal Biotechnology, Fish Inspection and Legislation for the students of undergraduate level. The department also offers MS (1.5 years, thesis based) degree in Fishing and Post Harvest Technology.
Each department of faculty of Fisheries shares the same laboratory facilities. There are five (05) laboratories, which are as follows:
1) Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Laboratory
2) Disease and Microbiology Laboratory
3) Oceanography Laboratory
4) Nutrition and Processing Laboratory
5) Aquatic Ecology Laboratory
