Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University

It gives me great and immense pleasure to welcome you at the website of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), the only specialized public university in the country.

To produce skilled and competent veterinarians, fisheries and food science specialists, and scientists of national and international standards through the study of the field-oriented time-befitting world-class curriculum including internship. In 1996 the Government of Bangladesh initially has established Chittagong Government Veterinary College (CGVC) with enrolled by 50 students in its first academic session in the Faculty of Science under the University of Chittagong. On the 7th August 2006 the CGVC was upgraded and converted into a university named "Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU)" under the CVASU act, 2006.

With the utmost development of science and technology, the world has become a global village with food and nutritional security for one and all as the most important and burning issue. This calls for an urgent need for joint action towards meeting the ever-pressing concern for hunger and health. The livestock and Fisheries sector and allied operations are going to play an important role in addressing these issues. The CVASU has made a remarkable undertaking need-based and applied for research work over the years.
We are committed to prepare our students to hard work, acquire skills and enhance the capabilities that equip them adequately to cope in a rapidly changing global environment. We have highly qualified and experienced faculties at our university and we will strengthen our faculty to provide higher education of international standards in relevant areas.

CVASU academic standards are accepted in worldwide, enjoying close links with many universities, institutions and scholarly bodies from all over the world especially Tufts University, Washington State University, USA, Royal Veterinary College, UK, Linkoping University, Sweden, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India providing students/teachers with the opportunity to transfer to relevant programs and higher education, joint research etc. CVASU has committed itself to create a field and research-based knowledge, providing enthusiasm in education and serving the society in a holistic approach. I hope that continuous efforts would be made to update the website so that researchers, faculty members, students, farmers, concerned stakeholders can be benefited. I anticipate that this website will help you to know more about the university.
