The functions of the controller of Examinations are conducted by the university Act,  examination rules, academic ordinance, and academic council/syndicate and by the decision of the Vice-chancellor of the university.

Examination related all activities of the university are run by office of the Controller of Examinations such as announcement date, time and place of examinations, date of filling up entry forms, submission of fees and receiving of entry forms through the Dean office. Appointment of examination committees, question paper setters, issuing of admit cards. Preparing of roll sheets and supplying it to the respective halls, supplying of questions papers, scripts and relevant papers and documents to the respective examinations centers. Count appointment of invigilators for billing, taking of necessary steps against any examinee for any anti-disciplinary work in the examinations halls, preparing of tabulation sheets and sending it to the press for printing, after receiving the printed tabulation sheet is compared with roll sheet of each student with proper care for a little correction, then it sent to the respective Dean office and departmental head for preparation of a result by the tabulators. Preparing of gazette and arrangement of publication of result in time and supplying it to the relevant Department, Halls, Deans, Treasurer, Registrar, Co-ordinator (CASR), Notice Board, Website and various sections. Preparing of mark sheets, Academic Transcripts, Provisional Certificates, Original Certificates, Result Publication Certificates, Minimum CGPA required for award of degree, Letter of accreditation certificates, Percentage certificates & Merit position certificates, teacher billing forms, passing of various bills of remuneration/honorarium related examinations, relevant educational document verification at home and abroad etc. are done by concern personnel engaged in these activities. Preservation of answer scripts and storage after evaluation of answer scripts are also one of the major duties of this office.
