Despite being raised in a non-farming family, interestingly, S M Mokaddes Ahmed Dipu found his passion for agriculture and agribusiness while working for Unilever. He envisions an academic and research career in agribusiness with a keen purpose of improving the food value chain by alleviating smallholders' and other disadvantaged community growers' plight. Currently, he is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences at CVASU.

He completed the Master of Agribusiness program at the University of Queensland, Australia, under the Prime Minister Fellowship awarded by the Prime Minister Office, Government of Bangladesh. Previously, he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in Marketing from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He also completed international exchange programs in Political Economy, Cross Culture Management, and International Business Management at Hong Kong University, Siam University, and Burapha University.

Before joining his current academic position at the university, Mr Dipu worked for Unilever Bangladesh Ltd. and Airtel Bangladesh Ltd. for four years in distribution, customer development, and indirect sales. He wants to use a multi-disciplinary approach to look at the problems in agriculture using the knowledge and skills he gathered throughout his educational journey and corporate tenure. His teaching and research interests include sustainability, agribusiness management, value chain management, smallholder farmers, and indigenous community. Six values guide his teaching and research philosophy: Respect, accountability & responsibility, bias for learning & action, building talent & team, pioneering, and integrity.

Mr Dipu loves to write blogs (www.mokaddes.blogspot.com) and newspaper articles to share his ideas and thoughts for society. He loves travelling and mobile photography. He also enjoys his engagement with the different student and philanthropic clubs.
