Dr. Sazeda Akter is an Assistant Professor with a distinguished academic background in veterinary medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2014, followed by a Master of Science (MS) degree in 2017, both from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in Bangladesh. Her illustrious career in academia commenced in 2016 when she joined as a Lecturer at CVASU. Dr. Akter is deeply committed to her role as a teacher, imparting knowledge to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Her expertise spans various subjects, including Farm Animal Medicine, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, and Veterinary Epidemiology. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Akter is a dedicated researcher with a keen interest in epidemiological investigations related to subclinical mastitis in ruminants. Her work in this area has led to several publications in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals. She had actively accomplished multiple research projects, such as "Virulence factors in Staphylococcus associated with goat mastitis and antimicrobial resistance genes in Chattogram, Bangladesh" and "Molecular Detection and Characterization of Zoonotic multidrug-resistant bacteria isolated from small companion animals." In addition to her teaching and research roles, Dr. Sazeda Akter served the position of Scientific Officer (additional-charge) at the Poultry Research and Training Centre (PRTC) within CVASU, where she contributes her expertise to furthering the institution's mission. She also has received a training entitled “Qualifying Workforce for AMR surveillance (QWArS) in Africa and Asia Training Program” Furthermore, Dr. Akter's commitment to advancing knowledge extends beyond her institution. She is an integral team member of the EUROPEAN COMMISSION Erasmus+ Programme (ERASMUS) funded project titled "Building the practical and theoretical knowledge capacity to monitor, assess, and mitigate the risks of vector-borne diseases in Bangladesh." Her active involvement in this initiative showcases her dedication to addressing critical issues in the field of veterinary medicine. Her commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing pressing issues in the sector will accelerate the development of the institution and the broader veterinary community.
