Saifuddin Rana earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fisheries from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bangladesh, in 2018 and 2020, respectively. He started working as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Resource Management in November 2023 and is also serving as the Assistant Provost at Bir Muktijoddha Abdullah Al Noman Hall.

Saifuddin Rana has been working on culture technology development and extension, ecological aspects of the aquatic environment, environmental impact assessment, community-based aquaculture, and waterbody management. He worked on the development of a community-based aquaculture model for the hill region with the funding of the Bangladesh Ministry of Science & Technology during 2018-20 as a part of his MS thesis. He also contributed to the aquaculture input sector management and dissemination of modern technology to root-level farmers. For this, he derived a one-stop aquaculture solution and service model named FishBooth. Moreover, He worked on different research projects especially related to the marine and coastal environment such as Marine Fish Larval Biodiversity and Distribution Pattern, Assessment of the Acidification Scenario of the Bay of Bengal, Biodiversity of Indigenous Ornamental Fishes of Saint–Martin Island, and Cage culture of Goldspot Mullet in Lower salinity zone of Cox’s Bazar Coast to contribute to boosting the blue economic growth of Bangladesh. Therefore, He has demonstrated experience in outreach research activities for the commercialization of innovative technology in the context of Bangladesh.

Saifuddin Rana has a solid academic and research background, with multiple globally recognized scientific articles to his credit. As a new faculty member, he is enthusiastic about contributing to the university's academic and research activities. He is eager to collaborate with fellow researchers and looks forward to participating in interdisciplinary projects addressing crucial environmental issues.

Research Interest: Aquatic Ecology, Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management, Mariculture, and Environmental Toxicology.
