Dr. Md. Rasel Prank is a Bangladeshi veterinary academic and researcher currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy and Histology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh. He is recognized for his strong academic background and growing contributions to veterinary science, particularly in the fields of anatomy, gene expression, reproductive biology, and veterinary epidemiology.
Dr. Prank completed his Master of Science (MS) in Anatomy at CVASU in 2025 with an exceptional academic record, achieving a CGPA of 4.00 out of 4.00. His master’s thesis focused on ovarian morphometry and the expression of genes in secondary and tertiary follicles during folliculogenesis in Black Bengal goats. This research reflects his interest in understanding the molecular and anatomical mechanisms underlying reproductive physiology in livestock. Prior to his master’s degree, he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from CVASU in 2022 with a CGPA of 3.86 out of 4.00, ranking first among 69 students in his graduating class.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Prank has received several honors and recognitions. These include the Dean’s Award from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, CVASU, the Best Oral Presenter Award at the 17th International Scientific Conference held at CVASU, and recognition in national competitions such as the Bangladesh Veterinary Olympiad and a World Rabies Day article writing competition. These achievements highlight his dedication to academic excellence and scientific engagement.
Dr. Prank is actively engaged in research and has participated in numerous funded projects. He has served as a principal investigator on studies such as the genomic sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of bovine ephemeral fever virus in Bangladesh and research on gene expression during folliculogenesis in goats. He is also involved in ongoing projects investigating fecundity-related genes and reproductive biomarkers in goat breeds. His research interests broadly include gene expression analysis, reproductive biology, clinical anatomy, and immunohistochemistry.
He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications in international journals covering veterinary anatomy, epidemiology, poultry diseases, livestock management, and molecular biology. His research has appeared in journals such as Veterinary Medicine and Science, Small Ruminant Research, and the Journal of Applied Poultry Research.
Dr. Prank also possesses strong laboratory and analytical skills, including expertise in histological slide preparation, PCR and real-time qPCR techniques, immunohistochemistry, and various clinical diagnostic methods. He is proficient in statistical and bioinformatics software such as R, STATA, SPSS, GraphPad Prism, MEGA, and Chromas. Overall, he represents a promising young veterinary scientist committed to advancing research, education, and innovation in veterinary medicine.
