Dr. Mohammad Mahmudul Hassan | Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University

Dr. Mohammad Mahmudul Hassan (Milad) received Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) in Parasitology/Pharmacology from Bangladesh. Thereafter, he received postgraduate course (MSc) in Veterinary Epidemiology from Belgium. He has completed doctoral degree (PhD in Epidemiology) from Centre for Integrative Ecology (CIE) of Deakin University, Australia. Dr. Hassan has received an overseas clinical training from Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University as a part of his DVM internship program. He also received Epidemiology training from Tufts Cumming School of Veterinary Medicine, USA and One Health training from TOHUN, Thailand. He received postgraduate diploma (PGD) in Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health from The University of Edinburgh, UK.

In his career track, Dr. Hassan is serving as a Professor of Pharmacology from 2018 in the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh. Before that, he joined as a Lecturer in 2003 and then promoted as Assistant Professor in 2007, as served as Associate Professor from 2012 to 2017 in the same department. His research interests are in the areas of Epidemiology, Emerging infectious diseases, Food safety, Drug residues, Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), Zoonosis, Avian influenza, Viral diversity, Wildlife and One Health.

Dr. Hassan has significant record of research that includes publications in a number of articles in the peer reviewed journals including Preventive Veterinary Medicine, EcoHealth, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Record Open, The Bangladesh Veterinarians, Turkish Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Veterinary World, International Journal of Livestock Production, Bangladesh Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Pakistan Veterinary Journal, and International Journal of One Health etc. In addition, he has presented a significant number of oral and poster and published conference papers and abstracts in the proceedings of various conferences in home and abroad like USA, The Netherlands, Bhutan, Ethiopia, and Australia. Dr. Hassan has had some professional achievements during his academic career. He has received several awards during his student life and academic career. He actively involved with conservation of bats and awareness campaign to combat the risk of nipah, Food safety and zoonotic diseases awareness program in community and school kids, vaccination and neutering of street dog to control rabies. He organized a young One Health group “One Health Young Voice” in Bangladesh. He supervised several undergraduate students in their undergraduate research and supervised and co-supervised a number of students in their Master’s research.
