Professor Dr. Mohammad Belayet Hossain is a faculty member in Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU). He received Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.

Mr. Hossain completed his DVM degree in 1998 followed by MS in Physiology in 2000 from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. In 2000, he joined as lecturer in the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University CVASU (former Chittagong Government Veterinary College, CGVC). Currently, he holds a position as Professor in the same Department at CVASU. He also served as a Veterinary Surgeon in the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) in early 2000.

Mr. Hossain has successfully completed a training program in the theory and application of Veterinary clinical pathology held at the School of Veterinary Sciences, the University of Queensland, Australia from 25th March to 7th June, 2002. He also awarded a certificate of participation for active involvement in workshop on Self Assessment and Quality Assurance in Higher Education from 3rd to 12th February, 2012 in Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council, Division of the University Grants Commission, Sri Lanka. He also participated some training Programs on molecular techniques, GPS/GIS tools. Genomics and Bioinformatics Tools, Statistical Software packages (SPSS, STATA & SAS) for Data mining, Research Communication skills, Bioinformatics etc.
