Dr. Md. Shohel Al Faruk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology at CVASU, Bangladesh. He completed his DVM and MS in Biochemistry at CVASU and earned his PhD from Sunchon National University, South Korea. He joined the faculty in 2014 and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2016 and Associate Professor in 2021. During his undergraduate internship, he received overseas training in large and small animal medicine at Madras Veterinary College, Chennai, and Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, India. His research focuses on molecular biology in veterinary science, including gene analysis in dairy cattle and metabolic diseases in large animals. He specializes in advanced molecular techniques, genomics, proteomics, hemato-biochemical assays, and computational biology. Dr. Faruk plans to collaborate with national and international research groups to enhance education and research in the veterinary sector in Bangladesh.
Mr. Faruk has been continuing his research in molecular biology since the early stages of his career. He has published fundamental research papers in several peer-reviewed international and national journals. Mr. Faruk has participated in and presented his research findings at numerous conferences both at home and abroad. As a young scientist with strong research potential, he has supervised a significant number of students in their undergraduate research projects. He is a registered veterinarian with the Bangladesh Veterinary Council and holds professional memberships in the Bangladesh Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Association, the Korean Society of Veterinary Science, and other organizations. His dream is to establish a molecular research laboratory and create a scientific collaboration between his home university and institutions abroad to significantly strengthen research capacity.
