My Research Experience:
I claim myself as one of the most renowned scientists in the arena of retinal opsins and visual neuroscience research in Bangladesh. I have significant achievements in my research focusing on the cytological and molecular aspect of retina. Earlier, I showed extraordinary performances on color vision research of Japanese jungle crow, and I am the pioneer for exploring the non-visible color for crow. I have published my results in international journal. I have knowledge and ability to conduct various molecular and biochemical techniques to analyze retinal opsins in animals. I am capable to incorporate my existing knowledge with the techniques of spectroscopy, HPLC, saponification, Immunohistochemistry, Cell culture and RT-PCR. A part from these, I am skilled in the areas of molecular genetics and functional genomics, advanced understanding of PCR techniques and methods of analysis. Besides, I am competent in different diagnostic protocols and surveillances of zoonotic and emerging diseases in livestock. As a veteran researcher, I am proficient to gather information about research topic, review that information and analyze and interpret the information in a manner that brings to a solution. I am a dairy and poultry practitioner. Furthermore, I am skilled in computer graphics. I am cultural minded and like to perform voluntary services when it is necessary. Earlier, I explored and analyzed the sequences of opsin cDNA in Japanese jungle crow. The photoreceptive molecules/visual pigments and carotenoids of oil-droplets in outer segment of cone photoreceptor cells were successfully investigated to know avian color vision. I explored the well-visible and non-visible colors of Japanese jungle crow to protect farm products and maintain hygienic environment from them. I pointed out the neural network of avian retina and explored two areas for predatory birds whereas, only one area (central) for short-ranged non-predatory birds for their acute vision. I estimated spatial resolving power of retina in birds. I fabricated several rapid field tests for diagnosis of brucellosis in cattle. The status of immunity in the native chicken of Bangladesh was explored during my MS research.
