Dr. M. A. Hossain obtained his graduation (B Sc. A. H) and Masters (M.S in Poultry Science) degrees from the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensing, Bangladesh, and the doctoral (Ph.D) degree in Poultry Nutrition from the Department of Animal Science, University of New England (UNE), Australia, and Post Doctoral research studies in Poultry Nutrition from the Avian Science Research Centre, SRUC, Ayr, Scotland, UK, and from the Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Malaysia. Besides, he did post doctoral training course on the ‘Livestock-keeping among small-holders for a nutritious diet and increased food security’’ from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, Sweden. He joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Dairy & Poultry Sciences (DDPS), CVASU in 2003, and served as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor from 2007 to 2018. Currently, he holds a position of Professor in the DDPS, CVASU since 2018 to date. His main area of research is Poultry Nutrition, with specialization in Poultry energetics, nutrient metabolism, enzyme technology, feed digestibility, gastro-intestinal and stress physiology of poultry. Dr. Hossain has a strong record of research articles in his area that includes publication of a number of papers published in the reputed national and international journals. He received several prestigious national and international positions, awards and fellowship during his academic career.
