Prof. Khan, after completion of graduation in B Sc in Animal Husbandry (Hons) and MS in animal breeding and genetics stared work in February, 1995 as an extension service and then moved to the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) at Savar, Dhaka, where I worked as a Senior Scientific officer and my main work was administration and research on dairy cattle genetic improvement. After 2 years moved at Chittagong Government Veterinary College (CGVC) as an Assistant Professor, then this college transformed and upgraded as Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in 2006 and still working at this university as a Professor. During this time 16 10 Research project has been completed as a Principal Investigator and currently conducting 03 research projects as a Principal Investigator. I am involving teaching on different courses (Genetics and Animal Breeding, Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology and Computational genetics/biology) at graduate and undergraduate level. Besides, I have served the university as a Registrar in charge, Proctor, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Director (Research and Extension),  Coordinator (Advance Research and Studies), Director (IQAC). I have done my PhD from Massey University, New Zealand and my thesis title was “Developments of models for the genetic improvement of dairy cattle under cooperative dairying conditions in Bangladesh”. Then in Scottish Agricultural College, (University of Edinburgh), UK I have developed a stochastic models for the genetic improvements dairy cattle as a Post doc fellow. Currently I am working as a Professor at the Department of Genetics and Animal Breeding, CVASU, Bangladesh. So far I have published more than 72 research articles in different national and international journals and I have attendant more than 12 conferences in home and abroad. I have supervised 15 MS students and 01 PhD and currently supervising 02 PhD students and 01 MS students.
