Md. Altaf Hossain works in the Department of Applied Food Science and Nutrition, Faculty of Food Science and Technology at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) as an academic, researcher, consultant, and practitioner in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition. His areas of research interest are Metabolic Disorders; Diabetes; Functional food, Food omics

Hossain gained BSc (Hons) in Food Science and Technology and  MSc in Applied Human Nutrition and Dietetics at CVASU. His recent work has focused on the impact of Dietary plant semi-refined-based functional food and their effects on metabolic and gut health of people with type 2 diabetes
